International Singing Competition
Marcello Viotti delayed

The first edition, 2008, of the International Singing Competition Marcello Viotti encountered a remarkable success because of the quality of its organisation and also the general level of the performances of the candidates, evaluated by an international top-level jury.
 
Although the practical conditions were achieved through the participation of the Conservatoire de Lausanne, the OCL and the Radio Suisse Romande Espace 2, the organising Committee considered that the insufficient financing did not allow ensuring an edition 2010 providing the same conditions. It has therefore decided to delay this Competition to a yet unknown date.
 
The Committee addresses its sincere apology to the singers who had already prepared or submitted their candidature.
In autumn 2010, it will decide on the date of the Competition and will certainly notify the singers.
 
The Committee would like to thank herewith all organisations, foundations and sponsors who promised their co-operation and support for this Competition, and believes that its decision proves its trustworthiness as far as quality of management and artistic ambitions are concerned. It would also like to thank the municipality of Vallorbe which entered into this adventure with enthusiasm.
